Top 5 Serums

Skincare is the base for makeup and the most crucial step before makeup. Skin is the largest organ in the body, and we must treat it as such. Everyone has different skin needs and skin types. This lineup reflects combination skin needs. Recently, I've been trying to switch to natural skin care products and am interested in Korean skincare. Below is a product review of face oils or serums that help maintain skin naturally. Here is what I am currently obsessed with in my skincare routine!

·      Living libations (Tahitian skin dreams)

·      Acure (soothing blue tansy and resurfacing amino acids)

·      The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid

·      La Roche-Posay Retinol

Living Libations

I rarely come across a product that is a staple for me, but these oils are incredibly nourishing and improve your skin. A good friend recommended them, and it has not failed me.

Since using this product, my skin has been more hydrated and glows. The scent is all from natural products, so there is no need to worry if you have any sensitivities.

Acure

Skin can soak up serums quickly, but these particular serums last me throughout the night. This product has done an excellent job of maintaining moisture for my skin during the evening. It leaves my skin plump and radiant.

I've used them before makeup, and neither creates pilling with the foundation. I use two specific ones: Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil and Resurfacing Amino Acid Serum. This combination addresses fine lines and wrinkles and maintains collagen and elastin.

The Ordinary

This product was a love-hate relationship because I was initially not using it properly. Ensure your face is damp, and apply the product to your skin with light taps. Do this throughout your face - the water's moisture will be locked in, glowing and nourishing your face.

I tend to pair this with other serums and seal it with creams. This is great for the winter season, dry skin, and sensitive skin. Skin loses its resilience over time, and hyaluronic acid works by using the moisture on the skin and sealing it in.

La Roche-Posay

Initially, the idea of retinol intimidated me because I was nervous about the purging faze. I want to preface this by saying this product is not cruelty-free or vegan. I had thought they were for some reason, but then I realized later that they were not.

This is an excellent retinol to try if you are afraid of having a purge because it is incredibly gentle on the skin. I pair this serum with nourishing serums and lock it in with a moisturizer. I was able to build up my tolerance for it and achieve great results with it as well.

Conclusion

Based on my experience, these are my current skincare favourites! Skincare is meant to be a fun and unwinding process - the simpler, the better. Skin needs vary for everyone, and finding combinations and products that work takes time. More importantly, skincare never has to be complicated. Supporting products that are clean, local, or certified organic typically tend to be easy on the skin. The goal is to destress and use products that work for you! Do what works best and show the best results for yourself.
